Important Question of Class 12 Chemisty PYQ 2025
Question :
17. (A) Give reasons :
(a) Cooking is faster in pressure cooker than in an open pan.
(b) On mixing liquid X and liquid Y, volume of the resulting solution decreases. What type of deviation from Raoult’s law is shown by the resulting solution? What change in temperature would you observe after mixing liquids X and Y?
OR
(B) Define Azeotrope. What type of Azeotrope is formed by negative deviation from Raoult’s law? Give an example.
Solution :
(A)
(a) Due to high pressure inside the pressure cooker, higher is the boiling point and faster is the cooking.
(b)
Negative deviation
Temperature increases.
OR
(B)
Same composition in liquid and in vapour phase and boil at a constant temperature.
Maximum Boiling Azeotrope
68% HNO₃ + 32% H₂O (Or any other correct example) (Percentage can be ignored
Question :
25. Define the following terms :
(a) Anomers
(b) Invert sugar
(c) Glycosidic linkage
Solution :
(a) Isomers which differ in the configuration of -OH at C-1 or C-2 of monosaccharides.
(b) Sucrose is dextrorotatory and its hydrolysis gives dextrorotatory glucose and laevorotatory fructose where laevo rotation is more than dextro rotation resulting in net rotation as laevorotatory, the product is known as invert sugar.
(c) Glycosidic linkage in which two or more monosaccharides are joined together by an oxygen atom.
Question :
For the first order thermal decomposition reaction, following data was obtained
| S. No. | Time(s) | Total Pressure (atm) |
| 1 | 0 | 0.30 |
| 2 | 30 | 0.50 |
Calculate rate constant
