This Privacy Policy applies to the BoardStudy mobile application (the “App”) operated by the BoardStudy team (“us”, “we”, or “our”).
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
1. Information Collection and Use
We collect information about your activity within the app to help us improve performance and user experience. This includes information such as your device model, operating system version, the screens you view, buttons you tap, and crash reports. This data is associated with a randomly generated, anonymous installation identifier and is stored securely on our servers. We do not use this data to personally identify you.
The App does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you.
2. Device Permissions and Data Access
To provide you with core app functionality such as downloading study materials and tracking your progress, the App requests specific hardware and software permissions from your device:
- Network & Internet Access: The App checks your network state (Wi-Fi or Cellular) to download study content safely and sync your progress.
- Local Device Storage: The App requires permission to read and write to your device’s local storage. This is strictly so you can download PDFs and video study materials for offline use. We do not access, scan, or modify your personal files, photos, or documents outside of the BoardStudy app directory.
3. Log Data and Crash Analytics
We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in the case of an error in the App, we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the App when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics to help us fix bugs and improve performance.
4. Cookies and Local App State
The App uses local device memory (AsyncStorage) to keep you logged in, save your dark/light mode preferences, and track your study statistics locally on your device. These are stored securely on your phone and are not transmitted to tracking companies.
5. Security
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. Your communication with our servers is secured via HTTPS/SSL protocols. However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
6. Children’s Privacy
Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers.
To protect our younger users:
- We do not require children to submit Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to read public study materials.
- We do not share student data with third-party marketers.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has provided us with personal information by mistake, please contact us immediately so we can take the necessary actions to remove that data.

You have the right to request the deletion of your account and any associated personal data. If you wish to delete your account or any data we have stored about your progress, please contact us directly at the email provided below.
